At 1st Choice Home Health Care Servicez Limited, we are proud to support eligible Veterans with compassionate, respectful, and professional home care services through Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC).
Our goal is to help Veterans maintain their independence, dignity, safety, and quality of life while remaining in the comfort of their own home.
Through the Veterans Independence Program (VIP), eligible Veterans may receive financial support for approved home care and health and support services based on their assessed needs. VAC identifies services that can include personal care, housekeeping, meal preparation, professional healthcare and support, respite care, nutrition, transportation, and other eligible services.
Our home care professionals can provide support with a range of daily living and healthcare needs, depending on the services approved through VAC.
We provide respectful assistance with everyday personal care, including: Bathing and personal hygiene Grooming and dressing Feeding assistance Mobility and transfers Assistance with activities of daily living Safety supervision Personal care under VIP may support eligible Veterans who require assistance to remain self-sufficient in their principal residence.
Our caregivers can assist with routine household activities such as: Light housekeeping Laundry and linen changes Meal preparation Grocery shopping and errands General household support These services may be available when approved under the Veteran's VAC benefit arrangement.
Our healthcare professionals can provide eligible services according to the Veteran's approved care needs, including: Nursing services Health assessments Wound care Vital sign monitoring Medication-related support Health and wellness support VAC's VIP program includes professional healthcare and support services where eligibility and assessed need requirements are met.
Respite care can provide temporary support to help Veterans and their caregivers manage daily care needs while supporting independence and wellbeing at home.
We can assist with meal preparation and other eligible nutrition-related support based on the Veteran's approved care plan. VAC identifies access to nutrition as one of the services that may be funded through VIP.
Eligibility for Veterans Affairs Canada programs depends on the Veteran's circumstances, health needs, service history, benefit entitlement, residency, and other applicable requirements.
